Explore Amritsar with Savaari Car Rentals

Home to the glorious Golden Temple, Amritsar is one of the most visited cities in all of India. Believers irrespective of their religion, caste, and gender visit Amritsar in search of eternal bliss and get amazed seeing the humble nature and deep-rooted beliefs of the Sikhs. The satiating food and generous dollops of legendary Punjabi hospitality further cast a spell upon its visitors. And what better way to explore all of that than by renting a car from Savaari! Our friend, Kartik Gandhi opted for Savaari in Amritsar and here is how the trip unfolded.

Wagah Border

You cannot claim you have seen Amritsar if you have not visited the Wagah Border.  A visit to the Wagah border is a refreshing change from the many many museums and restaurants. You witness an energetic parade along with numerous cultural performances that make the heart happy. There no direct buses to Wagah Border from the main city. For a hassle-free commute, book a cab in Amritsar and do not miss the infamous evening retreat at the Wagah Border.

Golden Temple

One of the main reasons people visit Amritsar is the Golden Temple and, of course, the food. Now a holder of Guinness Book of World Record as the most visited place in the world, the Golden Temple is the pride and soul of the Sikhs. This place is a must-visit for the tasty langar served, hospitable environment and the pure serenity you would be blessed with as soon as you enter the premises.

Jallianwala Bagh

Located within a distance of one kilometer from the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh should be on your list for reasons more than one. If you ask anybody about Jallianwala bagh in Amritsar, they would most probably link it with the Jallianwala bagh massacre. Nobody knows who built it, when it was firmly established, who named it or who owned it. Some of these details are still unknown. Built and placed in honor of all the people who perished in the massacre, Jallianwala Bagh is a bitter reminder of the appalling massacre and holds a very special place in the heart of every Indian. Savaari recommends a visit to the infamous Bagh to pay homage to the sacrifice of thousands of innocent souls.

Kesar Da Dhaba

Here comes the most interesting part of your exciting Amritsar tour and it is having the most delicious laccha paranthas in one of the most authentic restaurants of Amritsar. This century-old dhaba lets you taste the most delicious Punjabi cuisines dipped in Desi Ghee and rich in delicacy. You are advised to end your lunch or dinner session with the mouth-watering phirni served here in earthen bowls. The restaurant is located in Chowk Passian, Shastri Market.

Other places to eat

Shahi Quila for Rajma Chawal, Ahuja Milk Bhandar for the most amazing lassi, Pal Da Dhaba for Kharode ka Shorba, Beera Chicken House for Tandoori Chicken, Kulcha Land for the never-ending variety of Kulchas and Makhan Fish and Chicken Corner for the softest Fish Tikkas.

Well, Amritsar is definitely incomparable when it comes to food. If you haven’t put on a few kilos during your time in Amritsar, you haven’t done it right! For a wholesome road trip experience, book a safe Delhi to Amritsar cab here.
